Reports of IPA’s death are greatly exaggerated

The first week of March seems like a thousand years ago, but back in those halcyon days I wrote about IPAs for my April beer column. It posted online today (read it here), and I’m feeling all the feelings about it being my last piece for Halifax Magazine for a while.

It should be no shock to anyone that the pandemic affects journalism. Print publications are supported by advertising, and these days local businesses don’t have the money for it as they fight to stay afloat. As a result, Halifax Magazine will be online only for now and my column is on hold.

I’ll be back when it returns. In the meantime, dig through Halifax’s free archives to remember beers from better days. While you’re there, support a local advertiser. We don’t survive if they don’t.

Pop back here next week for a new one from me.
